Makes sure that all the elements needed by the vessels to carry out their operations are available and checks the requirements and coherence of information received before relaying them to the Master

Preparation of operations

  • Checks availability in time, requirements and coherence of information needed for operations;
  • Analyses the planning of the marine operation given by ASN;
  • Takes the necessary steps to obtain the “Operational Permitting”
  • Approves the Lay plan and participate in cable route engineering/ study;
  • Ensures that the vessel is “fit for purpose” (stock of consumables for cable operations and bunker tank…), and has the technical means to perform the project in good conditions;
  • Checks and controls the operational procedures;
  • Participate occasionally in writing of technical specifications for project subcontractors’ tenders;

Operations & project deployment

  • Attends pre load and pre lay meetings onboard vessels with the operation manager.
  • Follows up of marine operations progress with project and marine teams through weekly meetings, regular contacts etc.
  • Performs assessment or a survey falling in his expertise field on ASN;
  • Manages cable laying vessel importation process in coordination with logistics and project teams.
  • Participates to the ASN marine project risk management, and any meeting relating to operations;
  • Relays the information to project team (office and vessel);

Operations Administration and Reporting

  • Ensures that vessel crew hold valid visas and authorizations to work in compliance with local regulation.
  • Is the contact of the agent(s) who will be involved during the marine projects operations;
  • Checks and validates the final report including charts;
  • Verifies the allocation of disbursement account, and reinvoiced costs;
  • Participates in constitution of commercial and legal claims when required
  • Makes sure that vessels insurance policies are in place for vessels and that required notifications are sent to insurers.

QHSE

  • Follows up marine installation incident report occurred during the project operations and ensures implementation of mitigation measures by the relevant department.
  • Follows up standby/ downtime periods of vessel and submarine equipment installed on vessels;
  • Ensures that appropriate implementation and coordination of security means when required.

Offshore operations expertise and support

  • Provides marine technical expertise to sales and marketing teams.
  • Participate occasionally in writing of technical specifications for project subcontractors’ tenders;


Internal Mobility

Within the Marine Department, and based on his area of expertise, the OOM could be asked to participate or to take the lead on the follow up of tools and/or solutions development.

Wanted profil

Master degree in marine science, maritime or relevant technical area

5 years + of experience in cable or flexible product laying, burying, cable technology
