Shore End Installation - Burial Engineer

Main Office duties
• Supporting the team expansion of ASN’s in-house shore end installation solutions
• Directing the design, build and implementation of ASN’s in-house cable burial solutions
• Working with the ASN inhouse survey teams to review burial assessment surveys (BAS) on shallow water cable
installations
Extended Office duties
• Technical evaluation of subcontractors Method of Procedures, Plan of Works, Dive Plans (with the support of ASN
Diving Superintendent), Health, Safety & Environment plans and associated operational documentation to ensure
alignment with ASN’s requirements and lessons learnt
• Technical/Project Management support to the Project implementation and After Sales teams, including Site Rep
briefings and follow up on management of change requests and incident reporting
Site duties – Involving worldwide travel
• Supporting the site implementation of ASN’s in-house shore end installation & shallow water burial solutions
• Reviewing ASN’s subcontractors proposed burial solutions and conducting relevant equipment operational reviews
and audits
• Assisting with cable landing point site surveys to access suitability and to identify cost effective installation/burial
solutions
• Reviewing dive/burial video surveys of installation sites, pre-and post-shore end installation activities
• On site supervision of ASN’s appointed subcontractors ensuring compliance with ASN’s scope of work, HSE
requirements and Dive policy’s, including interface with the client representatives, and approval and sign off upon
completion of activities
• Assisting with the development & Planned Maintenance Programs of ASN’s in house shore end equipment
5. EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE JOB
Qualifications/Experience
• Computer literate – ideally with Windows/Microsoft office packages. Experience with engineering drawing
packages, such as AutoCAD or Visio would be advantageous
• Cable burial experience having been involved with offshore cable burial previously – ROV’s, jetting sledges, water
jetting/controlled flow excavators and is keen to put designs into practice from concept, new build & test, to project
field deployment.
• Ideally with an electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering background with experience in the marine installation
arena, preferably within the submarine cable industry
• Lifting and rigging experience/certification would be an advantage for this position
