Who are we looking for?
Working within the Operations department, the candidate will be responsible for OTT TV projects deployments, from system design to commissioning.
The role requires close liaison with external customers and with specialists in the Broadpeak internal Program Management, Sales and R&D departments.
Position based in France, Cesson Sévigné.
A software system engineer is responsible for installing and deploying software systems solutions according to clients' specifications or business' needs. They work to improve existing applications to boost efficiency and optimal performance. Software systems engineers manage systems configuration and structural development to develop high-quality outputs and deliverables. They also run multiple diagnostic tests to ensure compliancy,robustness and security of our solutions.
A software system engineer assists the end-users with application issues, performing troubleshooting operations, and creating resolution reports for reference.
Who will I work with?
The candidate will integrate a Team of 14 system engineers, which daily works in close interactions with our internal Level 2 support, R&D and Project Teams.
What will be my day be like?
System Administration
- Define the detailed design and system architecture.
- Install, configure, perform on site tests and maintain operating systems, application software (and system management tools).
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
- Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
Internal and external system representative
- Support the commissioning of the System.
- Manage the transition towards our technical Support Team.
- Interface with the technical teams of the Customers to successfully rollout the project.
Continuous Improvement
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
- Provide support all along the deployment phasis.
Profile required
University degree in computer science, electronic engineering or telecommunications related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position including direct customer contacts.
Oral and written english is essential.(Fluent)
Advanced technical knowledge in the following areas:
- Linux systems
- Server and storage architecture
- Networking and security
- Kubernetes
- Openshift
You will certainly have advantage if you are familiar with those technical backgrounds:
- Virtualization
- Scripting
- Content Delivery Networks
- Video streaming technologies
- OTT TV system architectures

Working Conditions
