Post description

Role purpose: To test SLTE manufacturing assemblies to the required test specifications and to the standard hours. To assist in the mentoring of new technicians during ramp-up periods. Role and Responsibilities: 1. Understand and comply with the clean area environmental rules. 2. Adhere to mandatory Quality and Safety procedures, including build documentation, ESD, Risk assessments, COSHH and Manual Handling regulations. 3. Read and follow instructions, drawings, and specifications in-line with contract test requirements. 4. Ensure all operations required are carried out to the correct test standard and in the prescribed sequence including recording of SAP transactions. 5. Maintain the quality standard required for the product, ensuring any concerns are taken to supervision. Work with colleagues and supervision to improve quality where possible. 6. Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and QRQC. 7. Support the on the job mentoring of staff, when required. 8. Setting up of test environments, including calibration. 9. Testing of Manufacturing assemblies to the required test specifications. 10. Review and report and log test failures to improve yield. 11. Assist with fault finding and determining root cause of failures. Education/qualifications/experience: 1. Previous experience of working within a clean area manufacturing environment is essential. Good hand-eye coordination, dexterity, problem solving skills, and ability to learn. 2. Experience of product mechanical assembly is preferred. 3. Experience of Fiber Optic Splicing, hand soldering. 4. Product test experience is essential.
