Post description

Role purpose: To assemble, kit and pack SLTE manufacturing assemblies to the required production specifications and to the standard hours. To assist in the mentoring of new technicians during ramp-up periods. Role and Responsibilities: 1. Understand and comply with the clean area environmental rules. 2. Adhere to mandatory quality and safety procedures, including build documentation, ESD, Risk assessments, COSHH and manual handling regulations. 3. Read and follow instructions, drawings, and specifications in-line with contract assembly requirements. 4. Ensure all operations required are carried out to the correct build standard and in the prescribed sequence including recording of SAP transactions. 5. Maintain the quality standard required for the product, ensuring any concerns are taken to the Supervisor. Work with colleagues and Supervisor to improve quality where possible. 6. Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing and QRQC. 7. Support the on the job mentoring and training of staff, when required. 8. Assist with fault finding and determining root cause of assembly build failures. Education/qualifications/experience: 1. Previous experience of working within a clean area manufacturing environment is essential. 2. Good hand-eye coordination, dexterity, problem solving skills, and ability to learn is essential. 3. Experience of product mechanical assembly is essential. 4. Experience of fiber optic splicing is essential 5. Hand soldering and product test is preferred, but not essential.
