Located in Châteaubourg (20 minutes away from the East of Rennes), Horse Dental Equipment is a French company of 15 people which develops, manufactures and distributes equine dentistry instruments.

HDE equipment allows veterinarian practitioners to be more efficient in their dental treatments and participates in the animal welfare. HDE strengths are:

The export represents more than 80% of HDE's turnover.

Our distributor network covers 65 countries selling to the equine and mixed vets and equine dental technicians.

HDE wants to develop its business and asks for Emeraude RH's expert advice to recruit an Export Business Developer M/F.



    Job description

    HDE reorganizes its sales department to absorb the strong development of sales and new projects. You will take over and develop the position of Manager of the Northern Europe and America area which represents 60% of the company's turnover.

    Directly reporting to Mathias, HDE’s CEO, you are the guarantor of this market durability thanks to the optimization of the distributor network while ensuring the HDE’s visibility towards the vets which are the final users of the products.

    As an Area Export Manager, you will have a transversal function on all commercial processes. You will collaborate with the Supply Chain Manager to ensure the satisfaction of direct and indirect customers but also to identify new products to develop according practitioners needs.

    You will directly manage a Sales Assistant based in HDE’s US subsidiary.

    You will organize and plan the development of the turnover and profitability of your area in collaboration with external partners.


    In the short term, you will consolidate the distributor network and carry out the reorganization of the sales department.

    DEVELOP a profitable and sustainable turnover

    • Ensure sales targets are met
    • Simple quarterly reporting on sales evolution
    • Develop loyalty among existing distributors and search for new distributors
    • Train and lead distributors' sales teams
    • Negotiate multi-year contracts with exclusive distributors and technical centers
    • Formalize annual sales terms with non-exclusive resellers and Business Partners
    • Ensure the competitive intelligence in your area
    • Identify user requests for new products and participate with the R&D department in defining specifications.

    OPTIMISE AND LEAD the distributor network

    NEGOTIATE AND CONTRACT sales terms with partners

    BE THE COMPANY & BRAND AMBASSADOR during external events (congress, training...).

    SUPPORT marketing and communication

    MANAGE the teams

    You are the line manager and directly manage the sales assistant based in the US
    Lead, coordinate and evaluate her performance and manage human resources
    You will be responsible for the transversal management of Léa as marketing and communication coordinator and of the sales assistants in your area
    Participate actively in the weekly steering committee.


    Working conditions

    • Regular travels abroad (about 30% of the time) in Europe and America
    • Permanent contract - Full time
    • Remuneration Fixed + Individual bonus and Profit Sharing = minimum 60.000 Euro per year
    • Localization of the position: Châteaubourg (35)

    About you


    • Qualified as a veterinarian.
    • Minimum successful 3-year experience in international business development.

    Fluency in English is essential as well as a third language, ideally German or Spanish (fluency in French is not required).

    Proficiency in computer skills, especially Excel.
