This is a hands-on, execution-focused role requiring strong technical knowledge of industrial valves, special processes (foundry, forging), NDT methods, and applicable codes and standards.
Roles and Responsibilities
Source Inspection & Quality Surveillance
- Perform source inspections at the supplier's facility in accordance with client quality requirements, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and purchase order requirements.

- Verify product compliance with contractual requirements, technical specifications and applicable regulations prior to shipment release.
- Plan, organize and coordinate inspection activities in alignment with the supplier's production schedule and project milestones.
Valve & Special Processes Technical Oversight
- Review and verify manufacturing documentation: material certificates (MTRs, EN 10204 3.1/3.2), WPS, WPQR, NDT reports and dimensional reports.
- Monitor and assess special processes such as casting, forging and heat treatment to ensure compliance with approved procedures, material properties and acceptance criteria.
- Witness and validate hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests, seat leakage tests, functional/torque tests and fugitive emission tests.
- Verify compliance with applicable valve standards: API 600, API 602, API 6D, ASME B16.34, EN 12516 and PED 2014/68/EU.
- Ensure full material traceability from raw material through to final product marking.
NDT Oversight
- Witness and evaluate NDT activities: UT, RT, PT, MT and VT.
- Review NDT procedures for compliance with applicable codes, standards and client specifications.
- Interpret NDT reports and assess acceptance or rejection of detected indications.
- Verify that NDT personnel qualifications and certifications are valid and compliant.
Non-Conformance & Deviation Management
- Identify, document and report non-conformances (NCRs) in a timely manner.
- Follow up on corrective and preventive actions with suppliers until full closure.
- Support root cause analyses (RCA) and participate in technical deviation resolution.
- Escalate critical quality issues to the client and Weld World management when necessary.
Reporting & Communication
- Issue detailed inspection reports after each hold or witness point.
