Alcatel Submarine Networks offers the full range of optical transmission solutions & services for terrestrial and underwater networks.

The Marine Operations Department oversees offshore and landing activities, as part of installation or maintenance operations for underwater systems, regardless of the complexity of the maritime environment or weather conditions. Our cable ships are staffed by qualified and experienced crews. They are located to serve our customers across the globe, according to the highest standards of quality and reliability, relying on in-house solutions and innovations. This includes dynamic positioning, heavy-duty cable burying ploughs, installation control systems, remotely operated devices (ROVs) for installation and maintenance, and fully-fledged GPS navigation systems.

We are currently seeking a maternity leave replacement. This is a full-time position is based in Suresnes. 

Your missions

As cartographer, you will be a member of the Cable Data Team which operates in the Marine Operations Business Unit.

You produce cartographic documentation in CAD and GIS format and process geographic data related to ASN Marine’s submarine cable installation and repair operations.

In addition of Thematic Maps issued to support the Marine Projects, you will be in charge of the marine charting of project, producing installation charts for vessel as well as as-built charts including technical records.

In this role, you will:

• Produce submarine cable installation and repair charts in CAD and produce GIS deliveries in accordance with ASN Marine standards.
• Assist the Marine Data Support Engineer in the vessels planning follow-up to manage the charting delivery planification.
• Apply required updates on the cartographic documentation after the project teams and customer’s reviews, and follow-up the cartographic documentation versioning.
• Produce thematic maps, e.g. submarine cable systems overview and permitting maps.
• Support offshore and project teams in any cartographic documentation and geographic information related issues.
• Participate in the GIS development project in the group.

Wanted profil

About you

You have a degree in cartography or geographic information systems.

An experience in marine activities or submarine cable installation is a plus.

Your success keys:

• Rigorous, independent and solution oriented
• Strong ability to understand technical aspects of the company activity
• Proficient in any CAD software, e.g. AutoCAD, AutocadMap
• Proficient in any GIS software, e.g. ArcGISPro, QGIS
• Knowledge of geoprocessing, geodatabases and web mapping
• Knowledge of AutoChart (Wish Software) is a plus
• Fluent in English
