Within ASN Marine, subsidiary of Alcatel Submarine Networks, the Hydrodynamic Engineer supports installation engineering department in developing robust, cost effective and efficient analysis methodology to model fiber optic behavior on sea floor and marine installation operations.

Main responsibilities:

- You will be in charge of the installation analysis for the submarine cables, including:

• the cable/structural integrity analysis from SZ (splash zone);
• cable normal lay with TDM (Touch Down Monitoring tool) analysis;
• typical connection equipment deployment analysis;
• cable or equipment abandonment and recovery analysis;

- You should be able to provide the maximum allowable weather window for each installation.

- You will support the installation engineer and offshore people during the operations.

- You should also ensure the liaison between the client and the project team.

Additionally, you may be in charge of:

- Preparing scopes for subcontracts, review and evaluate subcontracts

- Proceed to analysis of submarine cables behavior on the sea floor, such as the stability, free span assessment.

Profile required

• Graduated with a Master of Engineering in hydrodynamics, ocean engineering or relevant domain.
• 2/4 years of experience as a minimum in engineering on Oil & Gas, submarine related installation projects.
• Experience in engineering & design
• Experience in FE software such as Deeplines, Orcaflex
• Good English level (work in a multicultural environment).
• Good communication and reporting skills
• Dynamic, independent and solution oriented

Nice to have:

• Experience in Python
• Experience in SIMLA (one of FE analysis software)
