The main role of the installation engineer is to coordinate and supervise the engineering and installation activities of marine projects, ensuring compliance with technical and QHSE standards. The aim is to guarantee the delivery of the necessary documents, the supply of the appropriate installation tools, and the mobilization of human and material resources within the set deadlines. The person in charge will also have to write and revise installation procedures, participate in risk analysis, and ensure rigorous monitoring of the progress of the work while providing technical support during offshore operations. Finally, she will participate in the management of feedback to improve processes and optimize future installation campaigns.
Main missions:
• Ensure that all the documents necessary for the completion of the operations are issued in accordance with the project schedule and energy standards in collaboration with the installation engineering team of the project(s).
• Ensure in conjunction with the Marine Tooling Engineering team that all the tools necessary for the installation meet the project specifications and are delivered in time for the mobilization of the installation vessel.
• Write and/or review the installation procedures necessary for the marine operations campaign (e.g. installation of backbones/main trunks, branches, Y-Splices, subsea nodes...)
• Define the specific tool requirements for the installation of the associated product in collaboration with the marine engineering project team and the marine tooling engineering team.
• Prepare the necessary documents for the Risk Assessments planned for the project: HAZID, HAZOP, Marine readiness review.
• Participate in the QHSE risk analysis and prepare the corresponding JSA (Job Safety Analysis).
• Define the resources required for operations, including personnel, equipment and installation vessels, and coordinate their mobilization/demobilization with the relevant internal departments and subcontractors.
• Define the needs relating to the mobilization of operational equipment.
• Participate in the planning and possibly attend the pre-operation testing of the project's installation campaign.
• Participate in the writing and/or review of the marine operations report and the "Lessons Learned/Experience Feedback" of the installation campaign.
• Participate in the identification and mitigation of risks associated with facilities.
• Ensure the weekly and monthly monitoring of the progress of the installation engineering in terms of man/hour resources and costs, deliverables, orders, etc...
• Provide technical support during offshore operations such as MOC review, Field Memos, IR/MIIR, DPR etc...
• Prepare monthly project progress reports, prepare and participate in monthly project progress meetings with the client.
• Carry out the review and follow-up of hydrodynamic analysis reports of installation and deployment/recovery of subsea equipment and structures, stability analysis reports and free span/on-bottom roughness analysis of the cable.
Profile required
- Master’s degree, speciality: Marine Engineering / Marine Engineering / Offshore Engineering
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and knowledge of AutoCAD
- Previous experience writing and reviewing marine & subsea installation procedures (SURF: cables, hoses and umbilicals) on O&G projects
- Ability to interface with installation analysis and installation analysis report review engineers
- Previous experience in preparing and conducting meetings such as HAZID, HAZOP and Marine Readiness Review
- Strong ability to adapt to a new professional environment, to integrate into a marine engineering project team while being able to be very autonomous and a force for initiative and proposals.
- Excellent command of the English language (written and spoken)
