Post description
Role purpose:
Assist the Manufacturing Supervisor to ensure the efficient running of the manufacturing line. Lead a technician team of up to 15 people, in order to maximise people efficiency and deliver weekly output to required quality.
Role and Responsibilities:
Process:
- Comply to build processes to manufacture product within Amps area.
- Ensure all Tooling and Equipment used is in good working order and within calibration
- Ensure all specs & drawings used are up to date.
- Manage departmental scrap, generating scrap notes when required.
- Ensure any permits used are within date.
- Provide support and guidance to Technicians to reduce lost time and in-efficiencies.
- Ensure operators are following process, raising appropriate paperwork to request changes
Teamwork:
· Mentor new Operators, ensure they understand what is required.
· Build employee motivation & morale in order to be productive.
· Communicate effectively with departmental staff & supervision.
· Build and maintain good working relationships with department staff and supervisor.
· Cover for the supervisor in their absence
Planning and Reporting:
· Implement the production schedule to ensure departmental weekly demand is met.
· Liaise with supervisor and materials team to ensure material availability.
· Conduct basic team briefings within section.
· Assist supervisor in tracking & recording key departmental KPIs.
· Record and track any improvement opportunities.
Training:
• Ensure technicians are competent to do their task. This will come from an assessment carried out by trainers.
• Ensure section Training Competency Records are up to date.
• Assist with Operator Compliance Assessments
• Ensure departmental training qualification/re-qualification plans are up to date. Liaise with Supervisor.
• Assist supervisor in carrying out & recording yearly training reviews with section staff.
• Carry out the delivery of toolbox talks as required
• Regular reviews and monitoring of staff on tools
Wanted profil
Education/qualifications/experience:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role outside ASN, or as a Temporary Team Leader within ASN.
