Purpose of the Job:
Skills in prototype wiring and test jig development
Able to read schematics and perform fault finding
Ability to set up test benches and use test equipment – Oscilloscope, Power Supply and circuit
measurement equipment
Maintain 5S in laboratory
The Laboratory Technician will play a key role in supporting PFE R&D department with, including
prototype wiring,testjig development, and faultfinding. The role requires maintaining an organised
and safe laboratory environment while ensuring critical lab equipment is available, calibrated, and
operating effectively.
Responsibilities:
• Perform soldering, assembly, fault finding and wiring tasks at PCB, Card & Prototype level
• Source components and coordinate with vendors as required for Lab
• Maintain a clean, organised lab environment following5S principals in the Lab
• Regularly update and maintain documentation, including Risk Assessments, Operating Manuals and, Datasheets, etc. using good communication skills
• Contribute to improving laboratory processes and documentation.
• Implement and uphold Laboratory safety requirements
• Ensure critical lab equipment is operational, with a 95% up time, and manage timely calibrations and repairs.
• Support Lab engineers with their daily tasks and troubleshooting activities
• Regularly monitor and manage Lab inventory to ensure timely availability of required components and supplies.
• Support the on the job and school training of department staff, when required.
• Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
• Communicate effectively with departmental staff & Supervisor.
• Adhere to all ASN policies and procedures.

Wanted profil
Essential:
Minimum Level 4 NVQ (Electrical) or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of Test & Measurement equipment.
Desirable:
Knowledge of lean practices, process improvement, and advanced fault-finding techniques.
