MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Resource Management: Effectively manage and allocate resources to ensure successful product development and ongoing production support.
  • Collaboration with Key Leaders: Work closely with the Supply Chain Manager and Industrial Leaders to ensure new products and processes are qualified and introduced in line with the manufacturing plan.
  • Project Milestone Achievement: Ensure all project development milestones are met on time, supporting the timely delivery and quality of output.
  • Design for Excellence (DFx): Support DFx initiatives for all new products, focusing on serviceability, manufacturability, and other key design factors.
  • Manufacturing Design Input: Contribute to the manufacturing design process, considering internal and external constraints such as machine capacity, test benches, volume, cycle time, and lean principles, in accordance with NPI ASN standards.
  • Manufacturing Capability Planning: Work with the Industrial Leader (Submerged/ Dry plant) on ramp-up and ramp-down planning to ensure the appropriate manufacturing capability is in place.
  • Cost Reduction Coordination: Lead cross-functional teams to identify and implement cost-saving strategies and initiatives.
  • Weekly Department Reporting: Provide weekly reports on the performance of the Test & Database team, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Audit and Review Management: Manage audits and customer reviews to ensure compliance with standards and expectations.
  • Department KPIs: Monitor and manage department KPIs, ensuring that the team’s performance aligns with overall business objectives.
  • Leadership and Coaching: Provide coaching and support to Technical Leaders to enhance their leadership skills and foster growth within the team.
  • Technical Activity Planning: Plan and manage technical activities within the department to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Software Management: Oversee the calibration, validation, and management of software packages to ensure technical accuracy and project alignment.
  • Cross-Departmental Support: Collaborate with R&D, Production, Quality, Test/Software Engineering, Production Support Engineering, Material Planning, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, and Health & Safety teams to ensure cohesive project development and delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement Methodologies: Implement continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean or Six Sigma, to drive operational efficiency and innovation within the team.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the delivery of high-quality materials on time, whilst managing costs effectively.
  • Team Development: Implement structured training and development programmes to continually enhance the team’s skills and foster a culture of learning and improvement.

 

·       Manage resources to support product development and production requirements

·       Ensure delivery of project milestones in line with manufacturing plans

·       Set performance objectives, conduct annual reviews, and support professional development. Support and develop Technical Leaders within the team.

·       Allocate resources and coordinate project activities across the team.

·       Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical leadership to ensure high standards of engineering delivery.

·       Responsible for CAPEX planning and investment relating to test and integration equipment and processes.

·       Work with significant autonomy to coordinate cross-functional engineering activities while aligning with R&D, Production, and Purchasing.

·       Provide technical leadership for new product and process introduction

·       Monitor departmental performance through KPIs and reporting. Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction activities. Identify and manage technical and operational risks. Operate autonomously whilst reporting to senior management.

Wanted profil

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience and or Knowledge in mechanical process engineering
  • Experience managing or leading engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of CAPEX planning, supplier engagement, and equipment procurement processes.
  • Strong problem-solving, organisational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Good overall knowledge in submarine network products is desirable
  • Collaborative teamwork
  • Ability to work autonomously with excellent reporting
