Shore End Project Engineer F/M

The Shore End Project Engineer will be part of a dedicated team responsible for managing the installation of telecommunications cable shore end activities worldwide.

This role provides technical and project support across the lifecycle of shore end installation projects, ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective delivery in line with ASN standards. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, clients and suppliers to support the continued development of ASN's shore end capabilities.

• Build cost packs for ASN in-house shore end installations, obtaining quotations and technical proposals from subcontractors.
• Support the expansion and implementation of ASN's in-house shore end installation and shallow water burial solutions.
• Assist in allocating and managing resources through ASN personnel, subcontractors and external agencies.
• Provide back-office support to Shore End Engineers, including cost monitoring and invoice validation.
• Review subcontractor documentation, including Method Statements, Plans of Work, Dive Plans, Health & Safety documentation and Emergency Response Plans.
• Ensure subcontractor documentation aligns with ASN requirements, standards and lessons learned.
• Provide technical and project management support to Project and After Sales teams.
• Support Site Representative briefings and follow-up activities.
• Assist in the management of change requests and incident reporting activities.
• Conduct technical audits of subcontractors and suppliers remotely and occasionally on-site.
• Review and validate final installation reports submitted by subcontractors.
• Support cable landing point surveys to assess site suitability, compliance and installation feasibility.
• Assist with the implementation of ASN's in-house shore end and shallow water burial solutions.
• Act as ASN Shore End Representative on-site when required.

Responsibilities & Autonomy

• Drive cost-effective shore end installations through effective subcontractor management, resource planning and technical oversight.
• Monitor project costs and support cost tracking activities throughout project delivery.
• Ensure subcontractor activities comply with ASN requirements and industry best practices.
• Support project teams by providing technical expertise and operational guidance.
• Escalate strategic, budgetary or high-risk technical matters to management when required.
• Contribute to safe and successful installation activities through strong planning and coordination.

Education & Training

• Degree in Engineering (Civil, Offshore, Mechanical), Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Equivalent qualifications and relevant industry experience will also be considered.

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 5 years' experience in project engineering, project management, marine installation or a related field.
• Experience within the submarine cable, offshore, marine or telecommunications industry is highly desirable.
• Experience preparing project cost packs and monitoring project costs to completion.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using engineering drawing software such as AutoCAD or Visio would be advantageous.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
