We are now getting ready for an absolutely new captivating project, the series 'Messi and the Giants', produced by Sony Music Vision, Sony Pictures Television Kids and Leo Messi Management, and broadcasted by Disney. An epic saga where a young boy named Leo is transported from his home in Argentina into a fantastical alternate universe.

Job Description

Atlantis Animation is seeking a Mid/senior-level Render Wrangler to join our creative and technical team as soon as possible.

 

As a Render Wrangler, you will be responsible for monitoring and optimizing the rendering processes on the farm, ensuring that it is working at full capacity.

 

Location: Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain)

Type of contract: Full-time Employee. On-site in our Tenerife office. Only in exceptional cases, candidates already based in the Canary Islands (and/or registered) may be considered for remote work. Candidates from other regions will not be eligible for remote arrangements.

Main Responsabilities and Requirements

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the render farm operates with efficiency and at peak capacity, including verifying render jobs progress by tracking and prioritising jobs on the render farm and providing support to production artists, resulting in renders completing successfully.
  • Being the first line of troubleshooting of render farm issues.
  • Identifying patterns of farm failure and providing reporting to the rest of the team with clear examples to support your findings.
  • Understanding and accurate diagnosis of error job logs
  • Troubleshooting 1st level application and systems issues for pipeline issues, providing support for artist application issues and general office admin, utilising wiki instructions and updating instructions where necessary.
  • Organising and managing the provision of Hardware for the RenderFarm.
  • Assessing the suitability of hardware resources and re-profile each accordingly.
  • Promptly responding to users’ issues, resolving them where achievable and promptly escalating them when not achievable.
  • Assisting with the successful completion of projects.
  • Smart management of tasks and priorities.
  • Ensure availability for weekend support as part of a rotating or scheduled coverage plan, if needed.

Requirements:

  • At least 4 years of proven experience working in a similar role within an animation or VFX production.
  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot rendering issues effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and convey information clearly and concisely.
  • Help desk ticket management and escalation.
  • Experience in 3D software and understanding of USD pipelines.
  • Experience using production tracking software (Shotgrid).
  • Deadline knowledge is a must (farm managing software).
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus during repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to script using Python and/or Mel is a plus.
  • Systems programming is a plus.
  • Configuration management software awareness.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while remaining organised and consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Availability to work in person in Tenerife.
  • EU/Spanish work permit required.
