Job description

The Reasoning & Explainable AI Group at Idiap invites applications for a 2-year postdoctoral position in the area of Social Natural Language Inference.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the interface between Large Language Models (LLMs), Graph Learning and Social Media Intelligence. Working in close collaboration with the Machine Learning Group at Idiap and the Social Intelligence startup/scale-up Bloom, this position will focus on advancing the state-of-the-art on methods to create models for supporting social intelligence. These methods directly dialogue with the construction of AI models which can support the interpretation of social trends.

Appointment for the position is for 24 months (with the perspective of renewal depending on funding availability). Starting date is as soon as possible.

Sought profile

Essential:

* hold a Ph.D. degree in computer science or related areas (or close to completion)

* have a background in natural language processing or machine learning, evidenced by high-quality publications

* previous project experience in developing complex deep learning based models (e.g. in NLP or Computer Vision)

* solid English communication (scientific writing and speaking)

* confident in Python programming

Optional:

* Pytorch experience

* previous work in generative models, graph neural networks will be considered a plus.
