Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced person for the position of Research Associate. This position is an exciting opportunity to contribute to and lead a cutting-edge research project on the generation and detection of synthetic documents and deepfakes. The project will advance the field of synthetic face image and video generation, propose generative methods to produce high-resolution, realistic travel documents, and develop novel approaches for detecting AI-generated faces and synthetic images of travel documents.
Key Responsibilities
Within the scope of project, the key responsibilities of Research Associate include:
- Generation of synthetic images: take leadership role in the research team for developing novel methods for deepfake and travel documents generation.
- Detection of synthetic images: spearhead the efforts to develop novel approaches for detecting synthetic faces and travel documents.
- Research and Development: organise, supervise, and deliver research and development work for the project.
- Publications: lead the work and the writing process of scientific publications.
Funding and Duration
This position is funded for 18 months and will start sometime at the beginning of the next year.

Sought profile
- PhD Required: A PhD in Computer Vision or a closely related field is preferred.
- Postdoctoral Experience: A previous work as a Postdoctoral Researcher in related fields is required.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Python programming and experience in relevant modern libraries such as PyTorch is essential.
- Publications: Strong proficiency in writing scientific publications for top journal and conferences is important.
- Interest in Generative AI: A keen interest in generative AI and its applications.
- Computer Vision Experience: Demonstrated experience in the field of computer vision.
- Reproducible Research: Experience with conducting and managing reproducible research.
- Experience and/or willingness to develop large deep learning-based projects in a team.
- Solid English communication skills (scientific writing and speaking).
