Our Company

Founded in 1981, Japan Experience is the leading European tour operator exclusively dedicated to Japan. With an on-the-ground team and over 40 years of expertise, we design immersive travel experiences with deep local engagement. Thanks to our strong local presence and network, we provide reliable support and an authentic experience of Japan.

Job description

Your Mission

Are you passionate about Japan and have a deep knowledge of its culture?
If you love sharing this passion and guiding travelers through its wonders, join our team and offer our clients a unique experience.

Your main role will be to lead organized tours of two to three weeks across Japan, following a predefined itinerary and a detailed travel guide. You will ensure the smooth running of the program while adapting to the needs of the group.

Tours take place mainly during the high tourist seasons: from March to May and from October to November. Availability during these periods is essential. We may offer several consecutive assignments within a single season.

Our Tours

You will accompany English-speaking travelers, often on their first trip to Japan. Our tours are designed for curious and open-minded travelers aged 35 to 70, in small groups of 6 to 12 people, creating a friendly atmosphere. You will adapt to different traveler profiles and meet their needs with patience and kindness.

You will travel mainly by public transport and private minibus, depending on the itinerary. For three-week tours, the final part of the journey will be done by rental car, driven by the tour leader.

This position can be physically and mentally demanding, requiring good endurance to manage a group for several weeks and maintain the tour’s pace.

Check out our catalog of small-group guided tours on our website.
