ABOUT NAVER LABS
NAVER LABS Europe is part of the R&D division of NAVER, Korea’s leading Internet portal and a global tech company with a range of services that include search, commerce, content, fintech, robotics and cloud.
Description
We are inviting applications from Research Scientists at any level or career stage to join the 3D Vision team at NAVER LABS Europe.
What we do:
The 3D Vision team is at the forefront of developing cutting-edge techniques for understanding and interpreting the three-dimensional aspects of the visual world. Our work encompasses the design, implementation, and optimization of neural networks, with a particular focus on models such as Transformers, for advanced 3D vision tasks. Our team recently achieved an important breakthrough with DUSt3R (github.com/naver/dust3r), an all-in-one foundational model for geometric 3D vision. Our objective is now to achieve unprecedented speeds in both training and test phases of DUSt3R or similar models, leveraging both high-performance computing (HPC) on multi-node architectures and specialized hardware. Our activities extend from theoretical advancements to practical, high-impact applications across various domains. Collaboration is at our core, both within NAVER LABS Europe and with our Korean counterparts (NAVER LABS in Korea), driving innovation in 3D vision technology with a particular focus on robotic applications and augmented reality.
What we expect (depending on your career stage):
- A PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, with a focus on HPC, neural networks, or 3D vision.
- Deep understanding and substantial experience in high-performance computing (HPC) and multi-node compute strategies.
- Expertise in neural network architecture, preferably in the context of 3D vision tasks.
- Strong background in CUDA optimization and parallel computing.
- Excellent programming skills in Python and proficiency in PyTorch.
- Experience in developing and optimizing algorithms for distributed systems.
- Knowledge of and experience with GPU computing and architectures.
- A demonstrated track record of research excellence, with contributions to major conferences and journals in the fields of computer vision (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV), machine learning (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR), and HPC communities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment and contribute to an inclusive team culture.
The NAVER LABS Adventure:
- An equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
- An experienced research team with a background of 30 years research
- Ambitious, multidisciplinary projects
- Flexible work/life balance
- Perfect Balance: Experience the ideal blend of urban life and nature.
- Stunning views of the Alpine mountain ranges (Belledonne, Chartreuse, Vercors) from the research campus
