Within the Group Finance Department, the Financial Controller serves as the financial reference for the Initial Education Business Unit (Bachelor, Master in Management, MSc and MBA).

In a multi-campus and international environment, the position supports Academic Management as a finance business partner. The role contributes to the financial performance monitoring of the programmes and provides the analyses required to support strategic decisions, with the aim of optimising resources and ensuring the sustainability of the academic model.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, consolidate and monitor the budgets and forecasts of the Initial Education BU across all campuses.
  • Produce monthly reports, analyse variances and provide operational recommendations.
  • Define and monitor key financial indicators, including cost per student, programme profitability and campus contribution.
  • Support Programme Management and Academic Management in their financial forecasts and decision-making, including the analysis of options relating to the development of specialisations and programmes, locations, etc.
  • Build financial models and business plans for new programmes and academic projects.
  • Coordinate financial processes across campuses and ensure the reliability of data and reporting.
  • Develop financial monitoring tools and contribute to cross-functional projects related to ERP systems, business intelligence, planning and data.

Profile required

Required Skills and Experience

 

  • Degree in finance from a leading business or engineering school or university.
  • 5 to 8 years’ experience in management control within a demanding environment, transaction services or a Big Four audit firm.
  • Proven experience in business partnering is essential; international and matrix-environment experience is desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of management control, financial modelling, Excel and BI tools; knowledge of an ERP system is a plus.
  • Excellent command of professional English and of financial and accounting terminology, particularly IFRS standards.
  • Ability to produce structured financial analyses and implement the necessary actions to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to engage with non-financial stakeholders, present complex information and formulate recommendations.
  • Ability to organise one’s workload, set priorities and manage responsibilities independently in a multi-campus environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and propose solutions tailored to the challenges encountered.
