Role Summary
We are looking for an Entrepreneur in Residence to bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI research and real-world applications. The Entrepreneur in Residence works closely with Idiap researchers to identify promising research outcomes with societal and commercial potential, helping turn them into impactful applications and successful ventures. This role is for up to 20% FTE fixed-term contract for one year.
Duties include
- Identify promising AI technologies with strong commercial viability and significant societal impact from Idiap's research programs
- Evaluate the commercial potential and competitive positioning of these technologies
- Mentor researchers in founding startups
- Identify potential partners for licensing or collaborations
- Assist in developing go-to-market strategies and product roadmaps
- Provide guidance on business planning, fundraising, and team development
Your Profile
- Deep understanding of AI technologies and their applications
- Proven track record in AI or technology entrepreneurship
- Strong business financial acumen
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- In-depth knowledge of the Swiss startup landscape
- Passion for innovation and a desire to make a positive impact
Required language
Fluency in English and French. German and Italian are pluses.
