  • This role is responsible for providing the necessary specifications, equipment, machines and tooling, test software and hardware to guarantee that products can be reliably and consistently assembled and tested.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE

  • Works closely with senior engineers and team leaders to support the design and development of products that are reliable, manufacturable, and meet quality requirements.
  • Works closely  with the team towards ensuring products are designed for ease of manufacturing and produced reliably and performs consistently.
  • Evaluate prototype parts/assembly of new designs and providing feedback to senior engineers and leaders on various issues to aid assembly procedure and design.
  • Assisting with tooling and equipment reviews and the development of manufacturing solutions. Reviews contract documentation (Drawings, Bill of Materials) prior to release and give feedback to engineer/team/leader.
  • Attends New Process Introduction (NPI) meetings and provide inputs into the minutes, contributing technical input where appropriate.
  • Attends departmental and cross-functional meetings, contributing to discussions and supporting the recording of meeting actions where required.
  • Supports the verification of assembly procedures, drawings and technical documentation by ensuring that they are approved and issued prior to Design Release to Manufacture meeting.
  • Writes updates build and process specifications for new products/assemblies ensuring they can be easily understood, reviewed by the Industrial Technical Engineer as required.
  • Supports the definition and measurement of standard build times for each assembly process and maintain Reference Ops on the SAP/ ERP system.
  • Supports production during first-off builds, qualification units and new product introductions, working alongside senior engineers to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Provides practical application of mechanical, production, industrialisation and design knowledge to solve problems.  Instructs and advises operators in the assemble of the development and production unites.
