PRIMARY PURPOSE AND OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB:
Ensures industrialization and introduction of new high reliability products into production (submerge and terrestrial)/ Provides specification and tooling to ensure products can be reliably and consistently assembled and tested.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Design the improvement solutions (mechanical assembly process, tools, tooling, manufacturing equipment) to be put into production with lean manufacturing approach.
2. Manage the implementation of step change improvements & new innovations, from initial concept to final handover.
3. Create the technical documentary package for new equipment/ process solutions (mechanical assembly procedures, tools documentation, tooling drawings, manufacturing equipment procedures, etc) following ASN procedures and standards.
4. Validation of the tooling, test benches (ergonomics, safety, etc), new processes, etc prior to introduction into manufacturing.
5. Define and monitor project KPIs and budget.
6. SPR and PO management.
7. Perform PUWER assessments.
8. Define Maintenance strategy for new and old equipment.
9. Perform FMEA
10. Works closely with R&D to ensure products and process are designed for ease of manufacturing .
11. Evaluates prototype parts/assembly/equipment for new product implementation. Provide feedback to SED/R&D on various issues to aid assembly procedure and design.
12. Defines and designs tooling and equipment required to simplify the assembly of the product.
13. Reviews and validates contract documentation (Drawings, Bill of Materials) prior to release.
14. Attends products New Process and New Product Introduction (NPI) meetings and provide inputs into the minutes. Provide reports or meeting minutes.
15. Ensures assembly procedures are approved and issued as per project plan..
16. Writes build and process specifications for new products ensuring they can be easily understood.
17. Ensures that tooling / equipment are procured/designed and validated/commissioned as per ASN standard, PUWER, LOLER, HSE regulation and ISO standard to meet development and production plans.
18. Defines standard build times for each assembly process and maintain Reference Ops on the ASN system.
19. Oversees / supervises production personnel during first off build of qualification units. Provides production support for new product start-up and day-to-day support. Provides practical application of mechanical, production, industrialisation and design knowledge to solve problems.
20. Instructs and advises operators in the assemble of the development and production unites.
21. Writes Extra Work Authorisation (EWA) for product investigations. Reviews Investigation Request (IR/ITS) and defines corrective actions to maintain production build. Investigate and define Root Causes for the defects. Implement improvements and poka-yoke solutions to eliminate defects in the future products.
22. Constantly reviews and analysis production processes to improve efficiency, quality, HSE, down time, reject rates and reduce standard times and cost.
23. Conducts production processes audits on procedures to ensure all are compliant.
24. Leads/ participates in variety of Kaizen projects to reduce waste, improve standard build times and reduce production cost.
25. Support and collaborate with department: Supply Chain Engineers, Purchasing, Quality , Production, Maintenance, Manufacturing Support, Training School, Call Off, SQM, etc.
Wanted profil
Education, Knowledge and Experience required for the job
Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent (industrial, production).
- Ability to make reliability engineering judgements under pressure
- Experience in a technical and/or manufacturing environment
- Experience in machine and tooling qualifications/validations
- Knowledge in PUWER, LOLER, HSE regulations
- Knowledge of ISO standards ( safety, materials, design, etc)
- Knowledge CAD software (ex. CREO, Solid Works, CATIA, etc)
- Knowledge of quality standards
- Organised, disciplined & methodical approach to problem solving
- Motivated with strong interpersonal & team skills
- Sound practical experience with Excel and Word
- Poteantially knowledge of MES, SAP, ERP systems
