PRIMARY PURPOSE AND OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB:

To ensure the seamless industrialisation and introduction of new high-reliability products and processes into production for submerge products. This role is responsible for providing the necessary specifications, equipment, machines and tooling to guarantee that products can be reliably and consistently assembled and tested.

 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1.    Implementing improvements in a mechanical assembly process using a lean manufacturing approach. (New machines, equipment, tooling, etc.)
2.    Manage the new process introduction project or improvement project, from initial concept to final handover.
3.    Create or manage the technical documentary package for new equipment/ process solutions (mechanical assembly procedures, tools documentation, tooling drawings, manufacturing equipment procedures, etc.) following ASN procedures and standards.
4.    Generate the validation plan and requirements in agreement with R&D.
5.    Perform or manage validation program of the tooling, test benches (ergonomics, safety, etc.), new processes, machines, equipment, etc. prior to introduction into manufacturing.
6.    Define and monitor project KPIs and budget.
7.    SPR and PO management. 
8.    Perform PUWER assessments.
9.    Defines Strategic Spaers, Maintenance strategy, TPM for new and old equipment.
10.    Performs FMEA(s) and Machine/ Process Risk assessments.
11.    Works closely with R&D to ensure products and processes are designed for ease of manufacturing with required quality.
12.    Evaluates prototype parts/assembly/equipment for new product implementation. Provide feedback to SED/R&D on various issues to aid assembly procedure and design. 
13.    Performs Lessons Learned activities by collecting data generating reports and involving stakeholders.
14.    Defines tooling and equipment required to simplify the assembly of the product. 
15.    Reviews and validates contract documentation (Drawings, Bill of Materials, schematics). 
16.    Attends products New Process and New Product Introduction (NPI) meetings and provide inputs into the minutes. Provide reports or meeting minutes. 
17.    Ensures procedures are approved and issued as per project plan. 
18.    Writes build and process specifications for new products ensuring they can be easily understood. 
19.    Ensures that tooling / equipment are procured/designed and validated/commissioned as per ASN standard, PUWER, LOLER, HSE regulation and ISO standard to meet development and production plans. 
20.    Defines standard build times for each assembly process and maintain data on the ASN system. 
21.    Oversees / supervises production personnel during first off build or validation of qualification units. Provides production support for new product start-up and day-to-day support. Provides practical application of mechanical, production, industrialisation and design knowledge to solve problems. 
22.    Instructs and advises operators in the assemble of the development and production unites. 
23.    Writes Extra Work Authorisation (EWA) for product investigations. Reviews Investigation Request (IR/ITS) and defines corrective actions to maintain production build. Investigate and define Root Causes for the defects. Implement improvements and poka-yoke solutions to eliminate defects in the future products.
24.    Constantly reviews and analysis production processes to improve efficiency, quality, HSE, down time, reject rates and reduce standard times and cost. 
25.    Conducts production processes audits on procedures to ensure all are compliant. 
26.    Leads/ participates in variety of Kaizen projects to reduce waste, improve standard build times and reduce production cost. 
27.    Support and collaborate with department:  Supply Chain Engineers, Purchasing, Quality, Production, Maintenance, Manufacturing Support, Training School, Call Off, SQM, etc.

Wanted profil

Education, Knowledge and Experience required for the job

 

  • Engineering degree (mechanical, industrial, production, telecommunication technology).
  • Ability to make reliability engineering judgements under pressure
  • Experience in a technical and/or manufacturing environment
  • Experience in machine and tooling qualifications/validations
  • Understanding PUWER, LOLER, HSE regulations
  • Knowledge of ISO standards
  • Knowledge CAD software (ex. CREO, Solid Works, CATIA, etc)
  • Knowledge of quality standards
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
  • Knowledge of New Process Introduction
  • Organised, disciplined & methodical approach to problem solving
  • Motivated with strong interpersonal & team skills
  • Sound practical experience with Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of MES, SAP, ERP systems advantageous
