PRIMARY PURPOSE AND OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB:
Assist the Manufacturing Supervisor to ensure the efficient production of the manufacturing line. Lead a technician team of up to 15 people, in order to maximise people efficiency and delivery weekly output.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
Process:
- Operate build processes to manufacture product within multiple sections of manufacturing.
- Ensure all Tooling and Equipment used is correct and in good working order including monitoring of calibration.
- Ensure all specs & drawings used are up to date.
- Manage departmental scrap, generating scrap notes when required.
- Ensure any permits used are within date.
- Provide support to Technicians in order to reduce lost time and in-efficiencies.
- Work alongside engineering on relevant process documents.
Team Work:
· Mentor new Technicians. Ensure they understand what is required.
· Build employee motivation & morale in order to be to productive.
· Communicate effectively with departmental staff & supervision.
· Build and Maintain good working relationships with department staff, supervisor as well as other departments.
Planning and Reporting
· Implement the supervisor's production schedule to ensure departmental weekly demand is met.
· Liaise with supervisor to ensure material availability.
· Conduct basic team briefings within section.
· Assist supervisor in tracking & recording key departmental KPIs.
Training
· Ensure section Training Competency Records are up to date.
· Ensure departmental training qualification/re-qualification plans are up to date. Liaise with Supervisor.
· Assist supervisor in carrying out & recording yearly training reviews with section staff.
· Ensure team members development through delivery of quality training.
QHSE
· Enforce & Adhere to local clean area rules (ESD, Washing hands etc). Report non-compliance to supervisor.
· Ensure section product paperwork/SAP is correctly completed.
· Respond to product quality issues in a timely manner.
· Participate in improvements & assist in improvement implementation.
· Provide departmental lost time data for supervisor reports.
· Assist supervisor to ensure company H&S policy is applied & ensure staff behave in a safe manner.
· Assist supervisor to ensure Departmental health safety checks are carried out on time and equipment is labelled where required.
· Adhere to all section COSHH & Risk assessments. Use the correct PPE.
· Ensure you & section staff follow ESD protocols (log filling etc).
· Ensure Hazardous Waste is removed from the area in a timely fashion.
· Report all Accidents & Near Misses in a timely manner to Supervision.
Administrative
· Deal with section personnel issues (holidays, sickness, Timekeeping, grievances).
· Complete own weekly timesheet.
· Use of all system tools necessary for the job.
· Contribute towards the recruitment process.
Wanted profil
Education, Knowledge and Experience required for the job
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
Previous experience in a similar role outside ASN, or as a Temporary Team Leader within ASN.
PFE experienec or product knowledge will be a distinct advantage.
