Overall Objective of the Job

The role will assist the manufacturing Supervisor to ensure the efficient running of the manufacturing line.

 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensure that technicians comply with the build process to manufacture product
  • Ensure all Tooling and Equipment used is in good working order and within calibration
  • Ensure the stop to work and intervene policy is adhered to
  • Communicate effectively with departmental staff & supervision.
  • Manage departmental scrap, generating scrap notes when required. 
  • Ensure any permits used are within date. 
  • Provide support and guidance to Technicians in order to reduce lost time and inefficiencies. 
  • Ensure technicians are following process, raising appropriate paperwork to request changes 
  • Understand all people management policies and procedures 
  • Familiarity with all ASN policies and procedures. 
  • Support team with regular walk/talk and observation of build  
  • Raise an IRIS Quality or H&S ticket when an issue arises and follow up to ensure that instructions are clear and followed 
  • Inspect the kitted materials and ensure that supply meets the production order requirements 
  • Ensure all consumables are stocked 
  • Promote 6s and lean manufacturing principles, actively supporting the area champion in driving CIs 
  • Requirement to work on Lean and 6S if requested 
  • WIP must be balanced to ensure weekly output targets are met 
  • Any other reasonable request

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTONOMY

  • Implement the production schedule to ensure departmental weekly demand is met.
  • Report all Accidents & Near Misses in a timely manner to Supervision.
  • Respond to product quality issues in a timely manner, providing support to Production Engineering as required.
  • Manage departmental scrap, generating scrap notes when required.
  • Ensure any permits used are within date.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION & TRAININGS

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCES & COMPETENCIES

  • Experience of Lean manufacturing principles an advantage
  • Excellent Communication skills, written and oral
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Able to demonstrate excellent organizational Skills – Able to plan production schedules and monitor materials availability.
  • Familiarity with company policies and procedures
  • Ability to move and navigate amongst different areas
  • May be required to work shift patterns.
