PRIMARY PURPOSE AND OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB:
• In this dynamic role, no two days will be the same. Our Supplier Quality Engineers are accountable for 
the continuous delivery of conforming material into our manufacturing centres.
• The job entails proactive work with new and existing suppliers to ensure they understand and meet 
ASN’s required quality, working with the suppliers on continuous improvement programs and reactive 
work when non-conformances are detected to contain the problems immediately and agree corrective 
and preventive actions with the suppliers.

 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Primary Responsibilities:
• Ensure the highest quality standards across our supply chain for critical components like mechanical 
assemblies, and electronic components.
• Work closely with global suppliers and internal teams to uphold ASN’s reputation for delivering reliable, 
innovative submarine cable systems.
• Act as a point of contact for supplier quality topics in ASN projects.
• Continuous Improvement of their suppliers: Review Corrective Actions identified through investigations and 
audits. Ensure Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions are taken to prevent repeat occurrences.
• Implement a rolling 12-month audit plan for their suppliers balancing the needs of suppliers being 
introduced, routine surveillance audits and audits targeting required improvements
• Managing the supplier quality aspects of new suppliers’ & new materials’ introduction
• Performing quality reviews with suppliers according to ASN’s Quality Review template of questions.


Team Work:
• Build and Maintain good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
• Developing and then maintaining close communication with their portfolio of suppliers.
Planning and Reporting 
• Tracking and supporting suppliers’ continuous improvement programs.
• Planning and performing audits: Poke Yoke style to identify weaknesses, or whole company audits to assess 
potential suppliers.
• Performing root cause analysis, corrective and preventive activities when non-conformances are identified. 
Verify those actions led to documented process changes and all new requirements were clearly 
communicated to relevant parties


Administrative:
• Writing Audit Agendas, Audit Reports and Audit Actions for internal & external review
• Maintaining the SQM Audit Plan, keeping it updated with activities related to their supplier portfolio
• Maintaining the Investigation Database with latest actions and planned activities
• General summary reports of business-critical activities for review by the SQM Manager & board of ASN

Wanted profil

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE JOB:
• Experience in manufacturing engineering disciplines in an electrical, electronic or mechanical industry.
• Background in supplier quality management would be an advantage.
• Experience with quality control systems (ISO 9001, IPC, Six Sigma, etc.).
• Proven problem-solving skills in a global supply chain environment.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and maintain positive supplier relationships
• IRCA registered Lead Auditor would be an advantage.
• qualification (Degree in Mechanical / Electro Technical / Industrial Engineering / Quality Management, 
Materials Science) is desirable.
• A track record of self-motivation and ability to work independently.
• Strong communication & relationship building skills; able to collaborate with a company’s CEO, operators and 
managers to address quality issues.
• Ability to analyse manufacturing processes to identify potential quality issues.
• Analytical skills - Analysing data to identify trends and root causes of quality problems is essential for 
proactive quality management.
• Able to travel to Europe/Asia/America on a regular basis depending on the role.
• Proficient in English. If English is a 2nd language: CEFR level C1, IELTS level 7-8, TOEFL level 110-117
